Staying at The Hughenden was a glimpse into historic charm, with spacious rooms and a great location near Woollahra's vibrant cafes and boutiques. While the ambiance was delightful, I did find some areas in need of attention, especially the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Overall, it's a very comfortable place to stay, but it could benefit from a little renovation and upkeep to match its premium pricing.

Rooms

My room was very spacious with a massive king bed and high ceilings, making for a comfortable stay. However, I noticed some cleanliness issues such as mildew in the shower, which detracted from the overall experience.
Service

The service was welcoming, with staff helping to carry my bags up the narrow steps to my room. However, I felt the check-in experience could have been warmer.

The location is fantastic, just a short stroll to the village atmosphere of Woollahra, filled with restaurants and creative boutiques. It's also conveniently close to public transport options and parks.

The dining options were decent, with a good coffee cart at the front. However, the breakfast choices were quite limited, which was a bit of a letdown.

The hotel boasts some nice facilities, including a large parking area. That said, the overall cleanliness, especially in the bathroom areas, left something to be desired.

I had a lovely overnight stay at this unique hotel with its stylish old-world charm. The staff was fantastic, and the breakfast was delicious, but the room I had was a bit noisy due to being above Queen Street. Despite that, the hotel is in a great location for exploring the nearby entertainment options and beautiful parks.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, which offered stylish and unique rooms. The service was pleasant and efficient, and I appreciated the breakfast included with my stay. However, the room I initially had was a bit noisy due to being on the street side, and I encountered some issues with lingering smells. The price was reasonable for what was provided overall.

My stay at the boutique hotel had its ups and downs. I loved the cleanliness and the charming heritage atmosphere, plus it was a joy having a dog-friendly room right across from Centennial Park. On the flip side, the cozy room felt a bit cramped, and the breakfast was decent but not extraordinary. Overall, it’s great for a short stay, but just a few tweaks could make it even better.

Rooms
7.0
The dog-friendly room was spotlessly clean, and the heritage fixtures were a lovely touch. However, it was quite snug; I could hardly let my dog wag his tail.
Service
10.0
I found the staff to be incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Felix went above and beyond to assist me with directions, which meant a lot to me as a first-time driver in Sydney.
Location

The hotel is just across from Centennial Park, making it ideal for outdoor activities. However, while there are some local eateries and bars nearby, accessing the main attractions in Sydney required a bit of planning.
Dining

Breakfast included a good variety of continental options, but it was fairly limited. I appreciated the fresh juice and lovely croissants, though.
Facilities

Facilities were alright, but not particularly impressive. The overall ambiance was pleasant, yet the small room size made the stay less comfortable.

This boutique hotel is a wonderful blend of character and comfort, situated in a charming location. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, while the staff provided impeccable service throughout my stay. I appreciated the delightful rooftop bar and continental breakfast included in the tariff. However, the absence of an on-site restaurant was a bit disappointing. Overall, a great value for money!

Location

The hotel's location is great, nestled in one of Woollahra's premier shopping streets, which is both convenient and safe for walking.
Dining

The continental breakfast provided was a nice touch, with good quality options; however, there was no cooked menu available.

The rooftop bar was a stunning spot to unwind, reminiscent of London vibes, but the lack of an on-site restaurant was a slight downside.
